Divorce will break you, but I’m more interested in your remaking.

Instead of trying to navigate this challenging moment alone, imagine moving through the transition with a trusted voice by your side as you take each new step toward your unfolding future.

The Divorce Coaching Starter Pack is for you if your mind won’t stop circling on the same questions over and over again. Am I really going through with this divorce? What am I supposed to do now? How will I support myself? Will my kids be okay? What is my identity now? Why is this so hard? Why is my partner so difficult?

You’ve spent hours of emotional labor trying to navigate these questions all on your own.  Even if you have supportive friends and family, they can’t help you with the solutions you really need and rarely offer you the hard truths that can move you forward.

How does it work?

Here’s the Process:

01

Jump on a quick discovery call with me. We’ll talk through your current circumstances and see if the Divorce Coaching Starter Pack can help you move forward.

02

If we determine that you’re a great fit for coaching, we’ll get clear on what we hope to accomplish and lay out a plan.

03

We then quickly start your transformation through coaching, reflection, action items, and modeling. We move with intention and clarity toward what you need to figure your life out.

Which Professional Do I Need?

Divorce coaches operate in a sacred, time-limited, and pressure-cooking space for those going through relationship disruption. Your divorce attorney is trained, skilled, and interested in helping you navigate this season inside the legal arena, not outside of it. Your therapist can help you uncover and recover parts of your story. Here are some more key differences and why a divorce coach is an important part of your team of advisors.

A Divorce Attorney:

This person serves as your legal representation. They will help you draft all the necessary paperwork, advise you about the divorce laws in your state, and negotiate to ensure you get the best possible divorce settlement.

They will not help you handle your former partner’s aggressive and combative attitude.  They cannot help you get organized for the long, exhausting, stressful and emotionally taxing divorce process.  And they are not on retainer to help you face your fears about your future or about your kids.

A Therapist:

This person is a mental health professional and can help with treatments for things like depression you might experience as a result of your divorce. A therapist will help you evaluate and confront your past and help you work through grief and loss. A therapist will help you focus on why certain patterns exist in your life.

They will not come alongside you with guidance in the divorce process or help you make the most of your costly hours with your attorney. They also won’t help you organize and gather the information you’ll need in your divorce so you feel confident and prepared. Since they focus on why certain patterns exist in your life, they focus less on how to think about your future and reach your goals going forward.

A Divorce Coach:

As your divorce coach and member of your team, I will help you focus on your future and create actionable goals as well as hold you accountable for them. I will help you navigate your new circumstances, execute strategies for communication and co-parenting, and make decisions with confidence and with your future in mind.

I will help you work through the seasonal firsts following your divorce such as creating new holiday traditions, regulating your emotions and reactions when your former spouse begins dating someone else, handling child rearing from two addresses, managing yourself when things are not going your way, and how to leverage your new alone time for accomplishing your goals.

Ultimately, I will help you cast forth a vision of where you want to be in this new place and set up the framework for how you pursue it until it’s yours. Discovery is at the heart of divorce coaching.

FAQs

What if I’m not sure if I want to stay in my marriage?

That’s okay! My job is not to convince you that you need to get a divorce. I’m committed to helping you understand your options, clarify your goals, and make a plan. I can help you sort through the logistical and emotional questions that are keeping you from making an informed decision about what you want.

How can I justify This cost in addition to my Legal Expenses?

It’s true. You will have some legal expenses, but adding a divorce coach to your team of professionals can actually save you from racking up billable hours with your attorney because you haven’t processed your emotions, clarified your goals, and organized your information. And you can’t put a price on what it would feel like to have a clear mind, a confident sense of direction, and a strong sense of hope for the future.

What if I’m going through a high-conflict divorce? Can you still help?

Yes! High-conflict divorces present unique challenges, which is why it’s even more important to have an advocate walking with you each step of the way to ensure that you understand your options, make the best decisions for yourself and your family, and take critical steps to build a life that is whole and healed.

Can I work with you virtually?

Of course. Most of my coaching sessions occur virtually through a private and confidential Zoom call or phone call.
